SHOPS
The shops in Italy are generally open from 9:00 -
CHEMIST
Chemists usually display a green cross and are called “Farmacia". Unlike English chemists they do not sell perfume and only certain cosmetics. Well known brands are purchased at the Profumaria. For items like repellent, deodorant, suntan cremes etc, it would be cheaper going to a supermarket.
POST OFFICE
The sign for a post office is a yellow sign with PT printed in blue. Post office
hours are Monday-
and normally outside the tobacconists.
TOBACCONIST
A Tobacconist is called "Tabacchi" in Italian and displays a large black or blue sign with a large white letter T. Here you can buy stamps, bus tickets, telephone / birthday cards, cigarrettes and sweets.
BRlTlSH NEWSPAPERS / MAGAZlNES
On sale form newsagents and will be one day late. Prices can range from 2.0 euros for a newspaper and 3.0 euros for a magazine. We have a library box for all magazines / books for when you have finnished so we can pass them on to other guests.
BANKS
Most banks are open from 8:30 -
